Mechanics Speak Out

What message is Greyhound sending by cutting mechanics and maintenance when profit is up 18% and intercity bus ridership is up 25%?

“The message I get is that Greyhound is comfortable where they are. The company has done so much with so little for so long that now they think they can do anything with nothing.

“They should take a moment and look back at what made the company grow in the first place: Enough equipment to continue operations while trained mechanics supported by “Rec Plant” employees serviced the equipment that needed repairs.

“Someone in engineering thinks that new and refurbished equipment takes less to maintain, but with fewer garages, mechanics and maintenance workers, it won’t be long before our new pride is old trash – like our current fleet.”
