The Dallas Rally, held by Local 1700 held in the backyard of Greyhounds corporate headquarters, put pressure on the company and ultimately gave us the strength we needed to succeed in negotiating a new contract. Bruce Hamilton, Jimmie McCoy, Ronald A. Jordan, Bill White and Karen Miller, lead Local 1700 members in a spirited gathering. We proved that our Union brothers and sisters stand together in solidarity against Greyhound.

The Los Angeles Rally landed a sharp blow to Greyhound in Local 1700's fight for a new contract. One of the largest locations of Greyhound Lines, Los Angeles was to be followed by rallies in Atlanta and New York. They didn't materialize because the company wilted in the face of Solidarity shown by Local 1700 and it's supporters. 1700 Members were joined by Executive Board Members Bruce Hamilton and Karen Miller, Congressman Gil Cedillo of California and Neil Silver - President of ATU Local 1277.

Cleveland was another stop on Local 1700's campaign for a new contract and to protest the Companies use of sweatshop uniforms. There was a great turnout and show of support from our membership and local Labor supporters. This campaign is what pressured the Company back to the bargaining table to negotiate the contract ratified overwhelmingly by our membership. 1700 Members and 1700 Executive Board Members Jimmie McCoy and Ronald Jordan were joined by members from SEIU Local 3 and Cleveland's Unite Here.

This Rally was held in Chicago to protest against the Company in their efforts to use the non-union company, Cintas, as the sole distributer of the new uniforms. Cintas has a long history of being anti-union and against workers rights. Local 1700 sent a strong message to the company; "We will not wear your sweat shop uniforms!" On call were Executive Board Members Bruce Hamilton and Ronald A. Jordan who were joined by members of Unite Here and Chicago Drivers, Mechanics and Terminal Workers.
