After years of prodding, we have finally succeeded in getting the company to agree to take advantage of the federal program that subsidizes transportation for employees going to and from work. A trial program is supposed to begin soon in New York City, using Wage Works, a program that is similar to “TransitChek” but one that is better suited to our needs. For Greyhound workers using public transit to commute to work, the program could result in greatly-reduced commuting costs or possibly even nearly cost-free commuting.
