WASHINGTON, June 17 - The Amalgamated Transit Union Executive Board Has Unanimously Voted to Endorse Sen. Barack Obama for President, the Union Announced.

"Senator Obama has shown through this historic campaign that he has a vision for a better America; a stronger, safer, more secure nation, where all will prosper and none will be left behind," said ATU President Warren S. George.

Solidarity with Carolina, Vermont and TNM&O drivers

The news that Greyhound plans to integrate routes previously operated by subsidiaries Carolina Trailways, Vermont Transit, and Texas, New Mexico & Oklahoma Coaches (TNM&O) is good. A merger would add dozens of routes to Greyhound’s skeleton system and bring us new strength.

Oliver GreenRetired International Secretary-Treasurer Oliver Green, 77, passed away on May 18. The first African-American to hold an ATU executive office, Green served as International Secretary-Treasurer from 1989 until his retirement in 2000.
