Bargaining for a new contract for Greyhound drivers, mechanics and service workers continued today, but we have still not been able to reach agreement on some of the most important issues.  We have had some degree of what you might call success in negotiating over health care and work rules, although we have still not managed to break the ice on a number of items.  All in all, what we’ve accomplished is close to being an accommodation we could live with if we could get a decent deal on wages. 

            Unfortunately, our discussions about wages have been very, very disappointing.  It does not appear at this time that we will be able to reach agreement on a new contract before we are scheduled to leave the table and return home. 

            Quite a few of the Union’s original contract proposals remain unresolved.  It remains to be seen whether any new hope will spring up tomorrow.
