MEMBERS APPROVE MERGE
Local 1700 members took the high road and voted overwhelmingly to merge driver seniority rosters. Members put aside the things that tend to divide us and brought to the fore the things that unite us. This is an historic victory for all Local 1700 members. This vote will enable us to build on the unity and strength we began to generate over the past few years. Now we must commit to keep the momentum going. We can't afford to rest until all bus workers in North America enjoy decent wages, benefits and working conditions. The vote was 74% in favor of merging and 26% against. The vote on merging mechanic rosters was 37% in favor and 62% against. |
