I had the oppertunity to work with and get to know Ron over the years and am better person for it. He was a tenacious advocate for those he represented. He was also a good friend and a gentleman. You are in Gods hands now, rest in peace.

I'm not an ATU member, but I knew Ronald Jordan down through the years. He was 1000% committed to the union and to union principles. Ron didn't really hate bosses; he hated the unfairness, inequality and disregard for workers exhibited by some bosses. What many people failed to understand was that he was loyal to a fault and internalized the slights and injustices that his members brought to his attention and as a result felt compelled to advocate for them, no matter what. Underneath the outwardly tough exterior, his heart was pure gold. He was the same way as a friend; he might give you a few (or many) choice words, but in the end he was someone who you could count on - he couldn't help himself - that was just who he was. So if you speak at his funeral please remember to mention that he was a last dime friend - a quarter now, (but if you only had one dime, he was the person to call). Ron was a very "unique" :o) personality. Anyone he considered a friend was blessed by that friendship. Additionally, Ron absolutely loved his family- no sacrifice was too great, no task too hard, when it came to the people he loved. His ways were often not conventional, his manner often gruff, but anyone that had the opportunity to truly know him understood that he was, at his core, a very decent, terrific human being. God bless him and comfort his family. Rest in Peace Ronald.
I just wanted to express these thoughts; thanks for allowing me to.
